Rajasthan Royals will take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore in Qualifier 2, a game which will decide who plays Gujarat Titans in the final of IPL 2022. RCB come into this game after winning the Eliminator against Lucknow Super Giants, while RR lost the Qualifier 1 to GT and now stand another chance to make the final.
If RR do win against RCB, this will be the first time in 12 seasons when they will play the final. Yuzvendra Chahal, who was not retained by RCB for this season, has been RR’s trump card so far. He is currently the Purple Cap holder with 26 wickets from 15 matches. The likes of Sanju Samson and Jos Buttler have done well with the bat and will be the key to Rajasthan’s chances in the knockout game.
For RCB, Rajat Patidar was the surprise performer in the Eliminator. He became the first uncapped Indian player to score a century in IPL playoffs and his knock helped RCB put up 207 on the board after the likes of Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli fell cheaply.
After nearly two months of playing in Mumbai where all three grounds were high scoring, both the teams will take time to acclimatize to the Motera pitch in Ahmedabad.
