Iqbal admits that the Tigers have drawbacks during their Test against Pakistan.
Tamim Iqbal, a Bangladeshi international cricketer stated that they only have themselves to blame for losing against Pakistan. ‘It's not ideal. I thought we were in a good position but the shots we played were not great shots. We have ourselves to blame. There is nothing, there are no excuses. I think we did not apply ourselves’, he stated.
The Tigers showed a sensational fightback when they were able to chase down less than 100 runs. However, Naseem Shah was able to dismiss Nazmul Hossain Shanto, Taijul Islam, and Mahmudullah during a hat-trick.
Shah is the youngest bowler of Shaheens who is able to take a hat-trick during this Test match. ‘I thought we handled him quite well before that final over when he got that hat-trick. No doubt he is something that excites world cricket but apart from that, overall we handled him quite well’, Iqbal said.
As a senior member, Tamim admitted that their team hasn’t been performing well and is determined to improve their performance for the remaining Tests. ‘It is not about only this Test. I think, in the last four-five matches, we have not been performing well. Especially our batting department, which has not been scoring runs. I thought, in today's earlier sessions, the bowlers bowled well. Batting wise, we need to think seriously about what we need to do when we play the upcoming Test matches. There is no excuse at all, I cannot give any excuse. We have played bad cricket, we have to accept that’, he added.
The 1st Test is still ongoing until February 11 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. As of now, Pakistan (+1) is on the lead against Bangladesh (+2400). To keep you updated, check out the latest cricket odds at Betwala’s page.
