Ishan Khan Wants to Play for India in Near Future

The young player is a regular in the India A team

Ishan Khan has been playing for domestic teams in India since 2014. He is also a regular member of the India A team but it is still unsure if he will be called up for the national team in the near future. The India A team is currently playing in an unofficial ODI series against South Africa A. The team played against West Indies A earlier this month.

Khan wants to play for India in the near future. ‘I think it is obviously there in the back of the mind that I have to be there in the senior team. Any youngster would want to represent the country. But at the same time, I want to focus on my process,’ said Khan. ‘I need to get better day-by-day. If I think a lot about senior team selection, I will only be burdening myself with additional pressure’.

The 21-year-old batsman scored 40 runs in the third unofficial ODI match against South Africa A. The teams’ next match is later today. The odds are for India A (-294.12) to win today’s match against South Africa A (+240). The teams will also play in an unofficial Test series that starts on September 10.
