Ishant Sharma may miss out the first part of IPL 2020 after his ankle injury resurfaced during the first Test match against New Zealand.
Indian fast bowler Ishant Sharma will miss out on India’s second Test match against New Zealand due to a recurring ankle injury that he had obtained during their first match. In line with such, Sharma may also miss out on the first part of the IPL which is set to start by March 29.
Due to his ankle injury, Sharma would have to undergo rehab at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) which is the accredited venue of rehabilitation for centrally contracted players as per BCCI President Sourav Ganguly.
As it turns out, Sharma’s injury was classified as a grade three injury which would most likely take a three week recovery period or more. Speculations had also been floating around as to how Sharma may have pushed himself to his limits which may have caused his injury to reoccur. Meanwhile, some say that he may not have been given enough time for his ankle’s healing when he was already allowed to play once more for the team.
Sharma plays for the Delhi Capitals in the IPL. To know more about the Indian Premier League, visit Betwala.
