A fan invited to him for dinner in Pakistan but Neesham politely declined.

New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham is known for his funny interactions with fans on social media. He is currently in Toronto, Canada,  playing in the Global T20 Canada as part of the Edmonton Royals. While there, he asked on Twitter for suggestions on where to eat and drink.

“Anybody have any recommendations for nice spots in Toronto for dinner/beers? Thinking rooftop bar maybe, nice views etc etc. Many thanks,” he said in a Tweet. A Pakistan fan replied “Come Pakistan... We will serve you delicious food. Pakistani Biryani is best dish all over the world…” Neesham appreciated the gesture, but Pakistan was half a world away. He replied, “Probably a bit too far to go for dinner tonight mate.”

Neesham was one-half of the final partnership that New Zealand brought out to the pitch in an attempt to win the recently concluded World Cup with Martin Guptill being the other half. Guptill got run-out in the final over of the Super Over which lost them the match and the title. He was just as in shock as his teammates but his sense of humour is still intact.

The Global T20 in Canada is just one of many ongoing cricket tournaments around the globe. There are also upcoming tournaments such as the World Test Championship in 2020, and The Ashes and the India tour of West Indies that will begin this August.
