The cricket player’s emotions got to him as he spat in the direction of the Aussies.
The Ashes is living up to the excitement of a rivalry match. England and Australia are facing each other for the 301st time and no one is going to back down easily. Besides the teams’ dislike for one another, fans can also tend to get rowdy during the game, chanting and yelling at the opposite team.
During the fifth day of the first Test, England needed to bat for as long as they could to keep defeat at bay. Their openers, Rory Burns and Jason Roy, tried as hard as they could but eventually fell to the Aussie bowlers. Nathan Lyon first got Burns’ wicket. Not wanting to follow suit, Roy went for a swing but the ball landed short and got his wicket taken.
To add insult to injury, the Australian fans heckled Roy as he was on his way off the field. Roy spat in their direction as a response and out of frustration. The Brits ended up losing the first Test match by 251 runs.
The second Test match between Australia and England is happening soon, and bettors will want to place bets especially since England have proven that they have what it takes to win an international tournament. To find out more about cricket odds, visit Betwala’s page.
