Jonathan Trott gets named as the batting consultant of the English team for their upcoming series against Pakistan.
Former English and Warwickshire batsman Jonathan Trott will now work as England’s batting consultant for the three-match Test series against Pakistan which will be held at Old Trafford starting today. He takes over the role of Graham Thorpe who will now go back to being the team’s assistant coach.
Trott used to be a key member of the English squad back in 2011 where they became the number one Test team in the world. He started his career at The Oval in 2009 and had scored a century in the Ashes Test. In 2018, he decided to finish his first-class career where he had garnered a total of 18,662 runs to his name.
Aside from Trott, other former Warwickshire players will also join England’s coaching team. This includes Jeetan Patel who will work as spin bowling consultant and Graeme Welch who assumes the role of a pace bowling consultant. Aside from that, Bruce French will be the team’s wicketkeeping coach, Carl Hopkinson to be the national fielding coach, and Chris Silverwood to be the team’s head coach.
So far, the odds of the game are -500 for England and +331 for Pakistan. To know more about the latest cricket odds, check out Betwala.
