Proteas bowler Kagiso Rabada is motivated by other fast bowlers
South African bowler Kagiso Rabada stated that he is inspired with other fast bowlers playing in ICC Cricket World Cup match like England’s Jofra Archer, Australia’s Mitchell Starc, and West Indies’ Oshane Thomas.
“They are all phenomenal bowlers. I enjoy watching other bowlers bowl. It’s nice to see other people do well, but not against us,” joked Rabada.
“We all have our aspirations. We want to achieve certain goals. I don’t think it puts any pressure on me (to perform),” Rabada continued. “I know exactly what I want to get out of the game. When you admire other sportsmen, it can inspire you.”
The Proteas had a tough two weeks of the World Cup as they consecutively lost their matches against England, Bangladesh, and India. To bring their World Cup campaign back, Rabada believes the team should put their off-field problems and focus only on their matches.
“There’s just been a lot happening off the field and we are just looking to clear that out of our heads,” Rabada stated, “But it has been enjoyable.”
“It’s exciting. This is what you want. It has been enjoyable but it has come with its challenges in terms of our teams,” he added.
South Africa will be playing against West Indies today at Rose Bowl Cricket Ground. The Proteas have odds of -109 while Windies have -108 odds of winning the match.
