Due to a mild concussion, Kevin Kasuza is ruled out of the Test series against Sri Lanka for the second time.
The Test series for the Sri Lanka tour of Zimbabwe started on Monday, January 27 and is set to conclude tomorrow.
As the third day for the second Test match concluded, Kevin Kasuza is ruled out after being struck on the helmet once again. He was fielding at short-leg when he was hit. Then, he was carried off the ground and brought to the hospital for medical scans.
In the first Test of the series, he was also struck on the helmet while fielding at short leg. He was ruled out after showing symptoms that are similar to a mild concussion.
This time, after the medical scans, it was confirmed that he suffered a concussion due to the hit. However, now, he is in a stable condition but will be monitored by medical staff for further problems.
In the first incident, he was replaced by Brian Mudzinganyama. For this instance, his substitute was Timycen Maruma.
Despite these two incidents, Kasuza was able to show good performance in the field for the two Tests. He scored 63 followed by a 38 in the first Test. He was able to help the team greatly in the second Test as they reached a total of 406 in the first innings.
The second Test match between Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka will wrap up tomorrow.
