The Knight Riders franchise, co-owned by Shah Rukh Khan, has acquired its first-ever women's team. The Trinbago Knight Riders' women's team will feature in the inaugural Women’s Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) this year. The Bollywood actor said that he hopes to see the women play live at the WCPL, which will begin on August 30.
Apart from Kolkata Knight Riders, SRK also owns Kolkata Knight Riders, Trinbago Knight Riders (men), Los Angeles Knight Riders, and the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders. All these teams fall under the Knight Riders Group. While KKR have won two IPL titles, TKR have won four CPL titles and are the most successful team in the tournament.
Apart from TKR, the other two teams that will play in the WCLP are Barbados Royals and Guyana Amazon Warriors. WCPL will be played concurrently with the men’s CPL.
“This is such a happy moment for all of us at @KKRiders @ADKRiders & of course, the lovely set of people at @TKRiders. Hope I can make it there to see this live!!” wrote Shah Rukh Khan on Twitter.
On the work front, the actor is all set to return to the big screen after over four years when Pathaan releases later this year. He’s also working on other movies Jawan and Dunki.
