Kohli becomes part of the elite list because of his achievements
Team India captain Virat Kohli became the fastest player to reach 11,000 one-day international (ODI) runs during their game against Pakistan last Sunday.
The right-handed batsman achieved this during his 222nd innings which surpassed Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar’s 11,000 run mark in 276 innings in 2002. Kohli achieved the 11,000 milestone during a boundary off Pakistan fast bowler Hasan Ali in the 45th over of the innings.
“Virat’s consistency is just ridiculous. The ultimate yard stick for batting greatness,” said Tendulkar on Twitter.
Kohli was also the fastest player to reach 10,000 runs when he achieved it in October of 2018. Because of these achievements, Kohli became the ninth international batsman and third Indian to join the elite list.
India will play their next match against Afghanistan at Rose Bowl Cricket Ground on Saturday. Currently, the team has +190 odds of winning the entire ICC Cricket World Cup tournament.
