The Lancashire batsman will no longer be in the next IPL auction as he aims to return to the England Test squad.
Liam Livingstone has opted to withdraw from the upcoming IPL auction and has decided to focus to return to the England Test squad. He is looking forward to play a full season of Division One County Cricket.
The 26-year-old was recently released by the Rajasthan Royals. He was picked up at his base price of INR 50 lakh in the 2019 auction. He played together with an English core in the franchise along with Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer.
He played four matches for the team and made 71 runs. He had his highest score of 44 off 26 balls in their showdown against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
‘It was a fantastic experience to play for the Rajasthan Royals last year. I loved every second, learned a lot, the boys were great and I was delighted to play my part’, said Livingstone. ‘However, I'm going to have an increased focus on red-ball cricket next summer, so the decision was made to stay in England for this’.
Livingstone will be available for the full season of the County Championships and the T20 Blast. He will miss out on the One-Day Cup though, as he has commitments with the Birmingham Phoenix in the Hundred.
