Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah is most likely to miss out the ODI match set against Sri Lanka set on the 4th of March.
Bangladesh chief selector Minhajul Abedin confirmed that Mahmudullah Riyad won’t be available for the upcoming one-off ODI against Sri Lanka due to personal reasons. As stated by Abedin, Mahmudullah personally talked to him about his upcoming game absence without a written notice yet.
As it turns out, Mahmudullah’s wife is expected to deliver during that time and the 34-year-old player wants to stay by his wife’s side at that special time in their lives. With that, it is highly expected that he won’t be in the game but the board remains to be waiting for a written notice from him as he hasn’t filed a leave yet.
Mahmudullah can be remembered to have been axed out from the Test lineup that will take place on February 22. He was also asked to rethink his future in longer-version cricket shortly after the opening Test match between Bangladesh and Pakistan. As of now, Mahmudullah had been informed that he wouldn’t take part in Test matches in the immediate future.
Still, T20I captain Mahmudullah has been asked to focus in limited-overs formats. To further understand the different cricket formats, visit Betwala.
