The Indian Test opener received praise for his second consecutive century 

The first day of the second Test match between India and South Africa was held yesterday in Pune. Despite weather forecasts saying that it will rain, the match went on as scheduled. India has a good start as they were elected to bat. 

Opener Mayank Agarwal scored his second consecutive ton in the series. He scored an amazing 108 which contributed to their final score of  273 for 3. Agarwal made a partnership with Cheteshwar Pujara. The two players clinched off 138 runs for the third wicket.

The team’s skipper Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten half-century. It was his 23rd fifty in Test cricket. Rohit Sharma was suspended by Kagiso Rabada after scoring 14 runs. Rabada is the only player from the Proteas who took wickets on the first day. The other bowlers from South Africa struggled during the intense match against the Men in Blue.

Mayank Agarwal received a lot of praise from cricket fans in social media for displaying outstanding performance in the first day’s play.
