MI vs. CSK To Be IPL 2020’s First Match

Defending champions Mumbai Indians will face off against the Chennai Super Kings in the first match in the upcoming IPL 2020. 

The BCCI has already announced a match schedule for the upcoming IPL season. With that, it has been revealed that the first match will be between defending champions Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings. The said match will be held in Abu Dhabi on September 19. 

After then, the second match which is to be held on the next day will take place in Dubai. This next match will feature the Delhi Capitals and the Kings XI Punjab. This match is to be followed by the Sunrisers Hyderabad against the Royal Challengers Bangalore the following day. Meanwhile, September 22 will feature a clash between the Rajasthan Royals against the Chennai Super Kings held at Sharjah.

The first of the 10 scheduled double headers will be played on October 3. With regards to the schedule of the game, all afternoon games will start 3:30 PM IST (2:00 PM in UAE time) and all evening games will start at 7:30 PM IST (6:00 PM in UAE time). 

So far, the match fixtures show that Abu Dhabi will host 20 round-robin games, Dubai to host 24, and Sharjah with 12. To date, the venues of the playoffs and the finals are yet to be announced. 

IPL 2020 will take place from September 19 to November 10. Running for 53 days, this season will be the longest season of the said league to date.
