After his recent dismal performance at Gaba, Sohail was told by Arthur that he needs to work on countering short-pitched bowling.
In Pakistan’s tour of Australia, Haris Sohail continues to suffer as he failed to deliver again during the first Test. Despite being at tip-top form during the World Cup, has been anything but consistent. He wasn’t as productive in the T20I series as well, scoring just 4, 6, and 8 runs. One would hope that a change of format was all he needed but sadly, it wasn’t enough.
In their warm-up game against Australia A, he was only able to score 18 and 4 runs during the two innings played. Heading into the match, his performance got worse as he was only able to score a single run. This prompted Pakistan head coach Mickey Arthur to question the player’s body language.
Arthur said that Haris ‘didn’t have the right type of body language when he walked out to bat’.
‘When Haris Sohail walked out his body language said it wasn’t going to happen. In the A game he got out twice the same way. He’s an incredible player & when he’s playing well there’s nobody better to watch. But he’s getting caught on the crease to the short ball’, said the coach.
