The Pakistani head coach was left with a lot of questions with their defeat
Head coach Misbah-ul-Haq is still clueless with Pakistan Cricket Team’s performance in the home series against Sri Lanka. His side faced defeat as they got whitewashed in the T20I series. Misbah spoke in the press conference, addressing the team’s disappointing defeat.
Pakistan was thrashed by Sri Lanka in the final T20I match in Lahore. The visiting team posted a score of 147 for 7, defeating them by 13 runs.
‘Maybe I did something? Probably I made our right-hand batsmen switch to left-handed batting or maybe made our right-handers bowl with the left arm or vice-versa? In terms of strategy, nothing really has changed but I am thinking what went wrong’, Misbah said.
Misbah was still new in coaching. He was appointed following Mickey Arthur’s departure from his post. The new coach has a lot of questions about why their side lost to a young T20I side. In spite of the performances produced by Babar Azam and Haris Sohail, they failed to overtake the run target set by the opposing team.
‘It's not that they (the top-order batsmen) were being selfish, they were unable to adapt to the slowness of the pitch', Misbah said. 'They were trying to hit but weren't able to which led to more dot balls and frustration. Babar wasn't able to time the ball in all three innings’, Misbah said.
