Mitchell Marsh has incurred an ankle injury in the opening game of the Sunrisers Hyderabad against the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad had witnessed one of their players getting injured in their first IPL 2020 match. Having played against the Royal Challengers Bangalore on their first game, Mitchell Marsh twisted his ankle while bowling.
After having twisted his ankle in the fifth over in an attempt to field Aaron Finch, Marsh still managed to bowl two more balls before he hobbled out of the game. Then, he was substituted by Vijay Shankar to complete the said over. When it was their team’s turn to bat, Marsh came out limping and had managed to bat at the No.10 spot. Marsh no longer came back to the field during the rest of the RCB innings.
As the game ended, Sunrisers captain David Warner commended Marsh for his courage to go out and bat for the team. The team captain also described the said injury by saying, ‘A lot of courage from him to walk out there and try his best, but it was unfortunate tonight. He's got to get an X-ray, hopefully it's not too bad. It doesn't look great. Obviously what you saw out there, it was quite painful, he can't put any weight on it. Fingers crossed’.
Still, the Sunrisers Hyderabad lost the game by ten runs. With the RCB scoring 163 for 5, the Sunrisers had lost the game with a score of 153 with two balls remaining. Jonny Bairstow became the SRH’s top scorer as he scored a total of 61 runs.
SRH’s next IPL 2020 match will be played against the Kolkatta Knight Riders on September 26 at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium. To know more about these IPL teams, head over to Betwala.
