The 36 year old will work with Chris Silverwood and Ed Smith
Mo Bobat is named as the team’s Performance Director. The announcement was made following the appointment of Chris Silverwood as head coach of England Cricket Team. Bobat will be the successor of David Parson who left his post three months ago.
‘I am delighted and honoured to be appointed Performance Director, at what is an exciting time for English cricket. I am looking forward to working closely with both Chris Silverwood and Ed Smith, and in doing so, supporting the performance needs of our England teams and moving us closer to achieving our aim of being the most respected team in the world’, Bobat said.
‘It is a hugely exciting role and the vision is that the strength of our counties and our high-performance system delivers deliberate and sustained success across all formats’, he added.
The 36-year-old will work with Silverwood and National Selector Ed Smith. Before he was appointed in his post, he worked as a Player Identification Lead in 2016. He began working with the England Cricket Board in 2011.
The England Cricket Team is slated to tour New Zealand in the next few weeks. They will play two Tests and five T20I matches. Both teams had a head-to-head match in the ICC Cricket World Cup final in July.
