After playing for Pakistan for a decade, Hafeez has amassed runs from 218 ODIs with an average of 32.9.

Ever since his first appearance for the Pakistan National Cricket team in 2015, Iftikhar Ahmed failed to establish himself as a regular starter. He only played in four ODIs for Pakistan, in which he collected 68 runs with an average of 34.00. As for T20Is, he amassed 150 runs in five matches with a very impressive strike rate of 144.23. He was also able to score a half-century in the game’s shortest format.

Mohammad Hafeez, a veteran Pakistan all-rounder, was all praises for Ahmed after watching his performance during the match against Australia. Hafeez called Ahmed a ‘strong hitter of the ball’ who has the uncanny ability to bat in any position depending on the needs of the situation. Hafeez also believes that the player has a very bright future ahead of him.

Hafeez represented Pakistan for over a decade and has scored a total of 6614 runs from 218 ODIs with an average of 32.9. He has also collected 139 wickets with an economy of 4.18. He also showed his ability to play with the red-ball scoring a total of 3652 runs in 55 Tests with an average 37.64.

‘Iftikhar is a strong hitter of the ball. You can use him wherever you want. He knows how to deliver and has proved that in domestic cricket’, said Hafeez in an interview. Hearing praises from a legend of Pakistan cricket will help boost Ahmed’s confidence.
