The England cricket team captain made his top team pick clear.
England’s limited-overs captain, Eoin Morgan, said that the T10 League in the United Arab Emirates was the best league he has played in. Morgan, who captained the English cricket team and led them to their maiden title, captained the Kerala Kings in the T10 League. He will return to lead them again this year.
Members of the Kings were proud and happy to see their captain join the ranks of World Cup-winning captains. Shafi-ul-Muk, co-owner of the Kings, congratulated Morgan on his victory at Lord’s; Morgan said that he still reminisces the winning hit he played in the final of the T10 League for the Kings in 2017. In that game, Morgan scored 63 off 21 balls to help his team win by 8 wickets. He said he still watched the hit on YouTube to feel inspired, and that the league has helped him express himself.
Shafi said that Morgan had certain traits that made him a clear decision for team captain. He said that besides being a calm and composed leader, Morgan has the uncanny ability to spot skills that a cricket player has and, out of this, create tandems and partnerships that can work wonders.
Morgan was the first captain to lead the team twice at the World Cup and eventually lift the trophy. Despite criticism that they had won only because of superior boundary count, nobody can take away the glory that Morgan had instilled in English cricket, and stand alongside some of the great captains like Clive Lloyd, Ricky Ponting, and MS Dhoni.
Thanks to Morgan's leadership, England cricket has climbed to the number one spot in the limited-overs format of the game. To find out more about the different cricket formats, visit Betwala's page.
