Mortaza said they need to play well in their upcoming match against India
Bangladesh captain Mashrafe Mortaza said his team needs to be at their best in their upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 match against India.
“India are very strong in this World Cup and it is not going to be easy but we have to play hard and be at 100 percent in every area,” said Mortaza. “Are we going to still be in it? Maybe, maybe not. Let’s see but we have to play better than what we have done so far.”
“The Indian spinners are doing a lot better if you look at their stats in the last two, three years. Both (Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav) are doing very well,” continued Mortaza. “We can’t think just because England did it, (that) we will and get success.”
“Our batting has been very good and we will stick to the plan,” added Mortaza. “Maybe against New Zealand we could have done better but the way we are playing we should stick to our plan. England stuck to their plan, we (will stick) to ours.”
Bangladesh will play against India at Edgbaston Cricket Ground today. The Tigers currently have +460 odds to win the match while the Men in Blue have -625 odds.
