Rumours speculate that he is likely to tie the knot with Indian woman Shamia Arzoo.

Pakistan medium pacer Hassan Ali was the subject of heavy criticism after allowing too many runs against arch-rivals India during the World Cup. He went for 84 runs in nine overs and was able to take Rohit Sharma’s wicket but not before he was able to inflict massive damage.

Pakistan went on to lose that game by 89 runs via DLS and Hassan wasn’t able to play in another World Cup game. In his four matches, he was only able to take two wickets. Former player Shoaib Akhtar criticized him, saying that “ instead of showing antics at the Wagah border, he should produce some good performance on the field.”

Hassan now finds himself in another controversy. There are rumours circulating that he is set to marry an Indian woman named Shamia Arzoo. Shamia, who works for a private airline, studied in England and lives with her parents in Dubai where the marriage is reportedly going to take place on August 20.

Pakistan news said that the cricketer met his fiancée through a close friend in Dubai. As news spread like wildfire, Hassan addressed the issue and said that his marriage wasn’t finalized yet and the two families are yet to meet and make a final decision. A final announcement regarding the matter will also be given soon.

If the wedding pushes through, then he will join the exclusive club of Pakistan cricketers who have married Indian women. Earlier, Mohsin Khan married Rina Roy but the marriage didn’t work out. Another cross-border couple is Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis star Sania Mirza; their marriage is quite successful.

Pakistan’s next international match is set to take place when they tour Australia for three T20Is and two Tests. Their subpar performance in the World Cup has prompted the PCB to make changes in the team and its management. To find out more about the different cricket game formats, visit Betwala’s page.
