Nathan Lyon definitely gave the Aussie fans a huge scare as he seemingly suffered an injury in his left thumb.
The ongoing Test match between Australia and New Zealand has taken a twist as the battle turned into an intense one with the Kiwis trying to chase Australia’s lead in the match. The team’s roster has been hampered by injuries prior to the start of the match.
New Zealand had to make four lineup changes so far as they had to replace injured players in the team. With that, Australia is expected to make a sweep of the match that is being played in their home ground at the Sydney Cricket Ground.
Nathan Lyon had to step up for the Aussies when New Zealand came to bat. He was faced with debutant Glen Phillips, who made a debut Test fifty. During the 52nd over of the match, he bowled a flighted delivery to Phillips - who tried to hit the ball straight - which led to the latter being struck by the ball.
Lyon was not able to react quickly and was seen holding his right hand in pain. Phillips shot went straight and true to Lyon that time, but the latter was able to drop New Zealand’s batter.
Australia currently has +1 on the cricket odds, while New Zealand has +2400. The match is set to conclude tomorrow, so make sure to check on the latest odds on Betwala.
