New Zealand receives fine after slow over-rate in Windies match
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that New Zealand will be fined for their slow over-rate in their match against West Indies last Saturday.
Black Caps’ captain Kane Williamson was fined 20 percent of his match fee while his team received ten percent fines. The sanction was proposed by match referee David Boon.
New Zealand would have to be careful not to receive another minor over-rate breach in the 50-over tournament. This is because Williamson would face suspension if a second offence was added to his record.
New Zealand will have their next match against Pakistan on Wednesday at Edgbaston Cricket Ground. The Black Caps currently have +560 odds to win the entire 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup.
