Here are all the 1st-week highlights for the month of October.
Cricket matches had resumed. Despite several match cancellations and postponements due to COVID-19, several cricket boards have already settled the resumption of their games. One of these is New Zealand Cricket who just released the schedule of their upcoming match tours against Pakistan, West Indies, Australia, and Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket has also decided to reschedule the Lanka Premier League for the third time.

As some other cricket events resume, some are still getting postponed due to the virus outbreak. Among those is the Mzansi Super League which will now be held from November to December 2021.
After weeks of having unsettled agreeable quarantine requirement, the Bangladesh tour of Sri Lanka has been postponed indefinitely by the two boards. As stated by the BCB, the tour may be rescheduled once things have improved.

This week, a match series and a tournament have been wrapped up. In the final match of the Bob Willis Trophy, Essex bagged home the victory and the prestigious trophy after winning against Somerset.
Meanwhile, England’s women cricket team also won their five-over game against the West Indies. With that, they had completely dominated their five-match series by winning all of the games.
