Both the PCB and the BCB decided to postpone the upcoming Test match and lone ODI in Karachi amid the outbreak of coronavirus.
Among the long list of suspended cricket matches comes the suspension of the Pakistan and Bangladesh bout in Karachi for the World Test Championship. The one-off ODI was set to take place on April 1 while the second Test match is expected to commence on April 5. Both games were supposed to be played at the National Stadium in Karachi but were unfortunately postponed indefinitely.
‘The two boards will now work together to identify a future opportunity to complete the ICC World Test Championship commitment’, says the PCB committee.
The first leg of the tour between the two started in late January. Pakistan won both completed T20Is as well as the first Test match. If the game had not been suspended, the Bangladesh team would have arrived in Karachi on March 29 in preparation for their matches.
The second leg of the Pakistan-Bangladesh tour is just one of the major events that had been affected by the widespread transmission of COVID-19 throughout the world. Meanwhile, you may head over at Betwala to have a better grasp of the cricket formats.
