Hardik Pandya and Chris Morris have both been reprimanded for their verbal exchange as this was against the Code of Conduct of the IPL.
In a match between the Mumbai Indians and the Royal Challengers Bangalore, MI’s Hardik Pandya and RCB’s Chris Morris engaged in a heated verbal altercation. The incident took place in the 19th over of the game when Pandya struck Morris for a six and then gestured towards the South African.
Morris then had his revenge after he dismissed Pandya in the fifth ball of the over. There, he gave him a send-off. Still, the Mumbai Indians won the match by five wickets.
In an official statement from the IPL, it was said that both players have admitted to breaching the Code of Conduct. The statement further said, ‘Chris Morris, the Royal Challengers Bangalore all-rounder, has been reprimanded for breaching the Dream11 Indian Premier League’s (IPL) Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Mumbai Indians at Abu Dhabi. Mr Morris admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct’.
‘Hardik Pandya, the Mumbai Indians all-rounder, has been reprimanded for breaching the IPL’s Code of Conduct during his team’s match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Abu Dhabi. Mr Pandya admitted to the Level 1 offence 2.20 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding’, the statement added.
