The Pakistan Cricket Board and Bangladesh Cricket Board are set to meet in Dubai after the decision to have a three-match Twenty20 series.
Officials from both the Bangladesh and Pakistan cricket boards are scheduled to meet this week. Bangladesh received permission to have a three-match Twenty20 series in Pakistan, but not the two-match Test series.
Nazmul Hassan, the President of Bangladesh Cricket Board said in an interview last Sunday that his government decided to have a brief tour of Pakistan. Originally, Pakistan and Bangladesh will have three T20s and two Test matches from January to February.
Hassan said, ‘Directives from the government is to go for a short tour to Pakistan at this moment. We are always with Pakistan’s initiative to revive international cricket there but at this moment it’s not possible to stay there for a long period. I think they should consider our situation’.
Last month, Ehsan Mani, the PCB Chairman said that Pakistan will no longer host a two-match Test series after hosting a successful two-match Test series against Sri Lanka in Rawalpindi and Karachi.
PCB released a statement, ‘The Dubai meeting is a continuation of the discussion process, which the PCB has followed to reach a consensus with the BCB on its national men’s cricket team’s tour itinerary’.
