The SLC President narrated how the team members stayed in hotels instead of hanging out
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is disappointed with the negative statements made by Sri Lanka President (SLC) Shammi Silva. The president said that he is not satisfied while touring Pakistan. His team toured the country to play three ODIs and three T20Is. It was the first time that Sri Lanka visited Pakistan to play cricket since the terrorist attack in 2009.
‘Players had to stay inside their hotel. I was there and though I stayed for 3-4 days, I got fed up (about it). We have to think about that and discuss with the players and support staff. We are playing the Test Championship and we want to do well in that too’, Silva said.
He continued, ‘Frankly, in my opinion, it was good team bonding when they are staying in the hotel without their wives. Too much freedom is also bad for the players. But, they have to go out to do shopping, they have to eat somewhere, all those things are there. They have to go out and see the world. They can't stay inside the hotel’.
The PCB president believes that the comment made by Silva is regarding the security provided for the team.
Sri Lanka lost in the ODI series. However, they whitewashed Pakistan in the T20I series that concluded last week. Pakistan’s next schedule is their tour in the United Arab Emirates in December. They will play Test matches that will form part of the World Test Championship.
