The two young bowlers have shown impressive performances which are witnessed by Misbah ul Haq
Two rookie Pakistan pacers Naseem Shah and Musa Khan were announced by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as team members of the squads for the upcoming Australia tour. Shah was included in the Test team while Khan was named in the Test and T20 teams.
Chief selector and head coach Misbah ul Haq was impressed with the two players’ talent in bowling. ‘You have to have a surprise package if you want to compete against Australia in Australia and these two fast bowlers (Musa and Naseem) have a very good attitude toward fast bowling’.
16-year-old Naseem Shah debuted with a six-wicket haul. He also claimed 17 wickets at an average of 18.70 and strike rate of 38.9. Meanwhile, 19-year-old Musa has taken 17 wickets in seven first-class matches he participated in.
Musa said that he will bowl with his own style. ‘I am not thinking about bowling to the likes of David Warner or Steve Smith, rather I want to make an impression with my pace and penetration’.
Naseem also said the same thing. ‘I aim to make an impression with my speed and swing if given a chance in the tests against Australia. The conditions in Australia help fast bowlers, my aim is to make maximum use of the conditions and give a tough time to the home side. Playing on hard and bouncy pitches will be a great experience and a learning curve for me’.
The team’s tour in Australia will begin with a warm-up match on October 31. They will proceed to the first T20I series that will begin on November 3. Odds of the first T20I match will be available soon. Check out the latest cricket odds on Betwala.
