The West Indies skipper reveals that he gave a piece of advice to his teammates before their convincing win over the Men in Blue.
The West Indies defeated the Men in Blue in a close game that saw them winning by eight wickets with 13 balls left. Kieron Pollard’s leadership within the team has paid off and has given them a 1-0 lead in the series to gain momentum for the next two matches.
West Indies is set to play their second ODI against Virat Kohli and Team India on December 18 and is hoping to grab a 2-0 lead in the series. Their good start in the series could be the momentum they need in order to finish off the rest of the series.
Prior to their big win, Pollard told his teammates not to focus on the upcoming IPL 2020 auction that is set to take place this coming December 19th in Kolkata. The auction could be a big break for the visiting players to perform in a longer format and make a strong case in the franchises.
Pollard, however, does not share the same view. Not when the team still has a series to win against Team India. Pollard’s team has +275 on the latest cricket odds, while India remains a strong favourite with -344.83 despite the loss.
