Pravin Dubey has signed up with the Delhi Capitals as a replacement for Amit Mishra.
Just recently, Delhi Capitals player Amit Mishra had been ruled out from the entirety of IPL 2020 due to a finger injury which he had sustained in a match against the Kolkata Knight Riders. With that, the team has now named Pravin Dubey as a replacement for the injured player.
A statement from the Delhi Capitals stated, ‘JSW and GMR co-owned franchise Delhi Capitals today announced the signing of 27-year-old leg spinner Pravin Dubey as a replacement for Amit Mishra, for the rest of the Dream11 Indian Premier League. The Karnataka-based Dubey has played 14 domestic T20 matches for his state, and has 16 wickets to his name, with an economy rate of 6.87’.
‘Amit Mishra was ruled out of the tournament after sustaining an injury to the ring finger of his bowling arm during Delhi Capitals’ match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah on 3rd October 2020. The 37-year-old has undergone surgery, and is recovering at the moment’, the statement added.
Back in the 2016 season of the IPL, the 27-year-old spinner was picked by the Royal Challengers Bangalore for INR 35 lakhs. However, he was not able to play a single game for the franchise, making him released by them after two seasons.
Dubey was originally disappointed after not having been picked despite his good performance in the Karnataka Premier League. However, he was pleased to have been called up to bowl for the Delhi Capitals this season. With that, he says, ‘I'm happy because it gives me an opportunity to showcase my talent’.
So far, the Delhi Capitals are at the top of the IPL 2020 points table with seven wins out of their nine matches. So far, the odds for their next game is +102 for the Kings XI Punjab and -136.99 for the Delhi Capitals. To know the odds of other upcoming matches, visit Betwala.
