Pravin Tambe becomes the first-ever Indian player to be signed up with a franchise of the Caribbean Premier League.
Ahead of the Caribbean Premier League’s upcoming 2020 season, the different franchises have already decided to sign up some foreign players. This includes Pravin Tambe being signed up by the Trinbago Knight Riders and being the first-ever Indian player to participate in the league.
Aside from Tambe, other foreign players who got signed for this season were Rashid Khan, Marcus Stoinis, Ross Taylor, and Carlos Brathwaite.
Tambe became the first Indian to play in the CPL after he had retired from playing in the Indian Premier League. As the BCCI rules had stated, only retired players are allowed to be featured in overseas leagues.
The 48-year-old player has already retired way back in 2018 to play for the T10 league. However, he withdrew that said retirement to play for the Mumbai T20 League and had been registered for the IPL auction where he had been bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders but had been disqualified. Now, he will be seen playing in the CPL.
