Newly appointed South African Captain Quinton de Kock scored a total of 107 runs that helped the South African team win against England.
South Africa attained a sweet 7-wicket victory in an ODI match against the mighty England team at the Newlands Cricket Ground. The South African victory was led by the team’s newly appointed captain Quinton de Kock and a resurgent Temba Bavuma.
De Kock overall attained 107 runs while Bavuma fell short of a century as he scored 98 runs. Together, the De Kock-Bavuma duo pulled off a successful 173-run stand which madly contributed to South Africa’s win. The partnership of the two amazing players now serves to be South Africa’s highest successful ODI chase at the Newlands Cricket Ground.
The South African team may have lost their opener, Reeza Hendricks, early on the game but the team stood right back up when De Kock redeemed the game for the Proteas squad. Bavuma then joined the team captain when their side was on a 25-1 standing. The combination of the two players gave the South African team a great control of the game.
However, Bavuma got trapped by an LBW by England player Chris Jordan. On the other hand, it was Joe Root’s re-entry on the 36th over which made Captain de Kock fall off the game.
The South African team overall scored a total of 259 runs which beat England’s total of 258. The next match of the two teams will be held at the Kingsmead Stadium where the odds for the home team is +142 and -166.67 for the visiting team. For other cricket odds, head over to Betwala.
