Rabada stated that Proteas should learn from their World Cup flop
South Africa fast bowler Kagiso Rabada said his team have a lot of lessons they could learn from their 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup campaign. This comes after the Proteas lost five matches, had one washed out game, and won once against Afghanistan.
“There have been times where we’ve been really unlucky. At the same time, there have been times where we have let ourselves down,” said Rabada. “But there are plenty of learnings. That’s why we play this game. It’s not easy.”
“As much as you want to be at the top, you will never find it smooth sailing,” continued Rabada. “It’s extremely tough and when you’re playing out there, you experience all these feelings, the highs and lows and that’s part of the game.”
On the other hand, Rabada said that they will come back stronger in their next match against Sri Lanka.
“Now the key is to bounce back and to plan forward and stay positive,” stated Rabada. “We will definitely be back firing and looking to really nail some of the things we wanted to nail in this tournament.”
South Africa will play against Sri Lanka on Friday at Riverside Cricket Ground. The Proteas currently have +14000 odds to win the entire tournament.
