Reece Topley Signs With Surrey

A lot of clubs wanted to have him in their team but Topley chose Surrey

Left-arm fast bowler Reece Topley signed on a two-year white-ball deal with Surrey. Topley was drafted last weekend to play for The Hundred. He made his comeback to professional cricket to play for Sussex in the last season after his recovery from a back injury.

‘I am honoured to sign a contract at Surrey and excited to play in front of the fans at the Kia Oval. The set-up here is renowned for being excellent and I can't wait to work with the players and coaches and aim to win some silverware’, Topley said.

Topley played 11 matches in the T20 Vitality Blast. He was offered a contract by Sussex but he turned down the deal. A lot of teams wanted him but the seamer decided to join Surrey because of his goal to play at The Oval.

Surrey’s Director of Cricket Alec Stewart is looking forward to seeing Topley’s skills on the next season. ‘Being able to add an international bowler of Reece's ability is a massive boost to the squad and we look forward to seeing all his skills on view next season and beyond’, he said.

Topley played 10 ODIs and six T20I matches for England from 2015 to 2016. To know more about cricket formats, read the page on Betwala.
