New Zealand is hopeful for their upcoming series against India especially with a change in venue, format and opposition.
Recently, Australia whitewashed New Zealand with a Test series overall of 3-0. Now, the Kiwi cricket team is back home in preparation for a series against India.
The New Zealand cricket team struggled in Test cricket, but the team remains optimistic on the T20I series to begin on Friday, January 24. They will play a total of five T20Is, three ODIs and two Test matches for the India tour of New Zealand.
Ross Taylor said, ‘We had a quick debrief afterwards, but we've still got a few more weeks before the Test-match series and a lot of injuries that will hopefully heal in time’.
He continued, ‘It didn't go as well as we would have liked, we were completely outplayed in all facets of the game throughout the whole series, but now we're back on home soil and India will be a totally different opposition’.
Taylor acknowledges that his team needs to make preparations for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia, later this year. After the series with India, New Zealand will go back to Australia for three ODIs.
India (-172.41) is set to tour New Zealand (+146) from January 24 to March 4.
