Sachin Tendulkar Says India Has Back-Up In Bumrah’s Absence

Tendulkar says that Bumrah will be missed But India has a back-up for Test series

Former cricketer Sachin Tendulkar said that India cricket team can still perform well despite Jasprit Bumrah’s absence in the roster. Bumrah, who sustained an injury in his lower back, was rested for two months to help him recover.

Bumrah was one of the key players of India that led the team to win in all formats during the West Indies tour.  He completed a hat-trick that collapsed the rival team during the second day of the second Test match.

‘When it comes to Bumrah, you are surely going to miss someone of his calibre when he is forced to sit away from cricket for some time because of his injury. But, I feel the Indian team does have the back-up strength as far as our fast bowling department is concerned. It looks pretty good to me and so is the spin bowling department’, said Tendulkar.

Tendulkar also said that while India has a lot of promising bowlers, the team also needs someone in the left-arm seamer department. He said that this will add more variation in the team’s performance.

‘Yes, a left-arm seamer would bring in variety as more the variation, tougher it gets for the batsman. He would come into play on the first morning and more so when a team bowls third or fourth as the left-arm seamer would create the rough areas wherein the off-spinner bowling from the opposite end would use the rough, just like a left-arm spinner uses the rough created by the right-arm seamer’.

India cricket team will play the second day of the first Test series today, Ocotober 2, 2019. Diferent types of betting markets are open for the match. If you want to bet on different markets for today's match, check the odds at Betwala.
