Ahmed was sacked after the disappointing defeat against Sri Lanka
Sarfaraz Ahmed comments about Babar Azam’s captaincy in the team following their defeat in the T20I series against Australia. The former captain said that Azam is new and young for captaincy since he captained the team for the first time in T20Is. For him, he needed support from the people around him.
‘Babar is new to the job and my message for all is that we need to support him as much as possible. He is a young captain & he has a young team with him and it’s not easy for a young captain to go to a tough place and fight against a strong team’, Ahmed said.
In the recently concluded third T20I match, Australia won by 10 wickets. They had their first win in the second T20I. The first match was washed out by rain interruption, thus the match ended with no result.
