Young batsman from Mumbai, Safaraz Khan has been on a run-scoring spree in the last two seasons of the Ranji Trophy. He scored more than 900 runs in the last season of the domestic first-class tournament, and has crossed 900 runs this season as well.
With one century after another, the young batsman has been knocking on the doors of the national team for nearly two years. But it seems that his long wait is finally over. As per a report in the Times of India, Sarfaraz is likely to be rewarded an India call-up in the upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
"It’s impossible to overlook him now," The Times of India quoted a BCCI source as saying. "His performances are speaking about his huge ability, and putting pressure on many in the Indian team. He will be a certainty when the selectors pick the Indian team for the Bangladesh Test series. He did well for India A last year in South Arica and he’s an excellent fielder."
In this year’s Ranji Trophy, Sarfaraz has piled up four centuries, including one in the on-going final against Madhya Pradesh. He scored a brilliant 134 off 243 balls, taking Mumbai to a strong score of 374 in the first innings of the match. Last season, he smashed 928 runs in six games, which included a triple and double century, both unbeaten
