Shannon Gabriel has been added to the lineup of the West Indies squad who will face England on the upcoming series.
West Indies player Shannon Gabriel has fully recovered from an ankle injury and has already been added to the team’s official squad lineup. Originally, Gabriel was supposed to be one of the team’s reserve players. However, after his full recovery, it has been decided by the board that he will be a part of the 15-man lineup.
As per Cricket West Indies lead selector Roger Harper, ‘I am delighted that we are able to add Shannon to the Test squad. He has shown that he is fit and ready, he will add experience, firepower and potency to the bowling unit’.
Gabriel had his debut at Lord’s in 2012. Aside from that, he also became a part of the West Indies squad who had helped regain the Wisden Trophy against England last year. In this match series where he had been included, he will also play against England.
The West Indies squad will travel from Manchester to Southhampton today. Then, the series comprised of three Test matches will begin on July 8 at the Ageas Bowl. To further understand how Test matches are played, visit Betwala.
