The experienced pacer of the Afghanistan cricket team, Shapoor Zadran, was recalled for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland on March 6.
The three-match T20I series between Afghanistan and Ireland will happen on March 6, 8 and 10 at the Greater Noida Sports Complex Ground in India.
Afghanistan’s left-arm pacer, Shapoor Zadran last played an international match since March 2019 and his last T20I match was in June 2018.
Along with Zadran, the all-rounder, Azmatullah Omarzai was also included in the 15-man squad which will be captained by Asghar Afghan. Omarzai has a batting average of 49.66 and 20.43 in bowling for first-class cricket.
Opening batsman, Usman Ghani will also make a comeback after being ruled out of the T20Is against West Indies in October last year.
Now, the T20I squad is composed of captain Asghar Afghan and teammates, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Hazratullah Zazai, Karim Janat, Najib Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Gulbadin Naib, Rashid Khan, Naveen ul Haq, Shapoor Zadran, Mujeeb ur Rahman, Qais Ahmad, Azmatullah Omarzai, Samiullah Shinwari and Usman Ghani.
Afghanistan chief selector, Andy Moles said in an interview, ‘We have selected the current best T20 players and hopefully will do better against Ireland’.
