Indian dynamic duo Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli led India to victory by scoring a 137-run for the second wicket in Bengaluru last Sunday.
The Men in Blue took home the trophy in the latest Australia Tour of India ODI Series. The third match that took place in M Chinnaswamy, Bengaluru seemed to be a tough one after a 1-1 stand between the Indian and Australian team on the second match.
Despite losing the toss for three consecutive times, Indian captain Virat Kohli couldn’t help but smile upon the Australian team’s decision to bat first.
With that, Indian opener Rohit Sharma scored a century that contributed well to the team’s victory. Sharma was able to score 119 runs before being called out. This served as Sharma’s 29th ODI century and his 8th century against Australia. He also completed his 9000 ODI runs in the game, making him the third-fastest player to achieve such.
Kohli, on the other hand, fell short of a century but was able to score 89 runs. Kohli’s performance made him break MS Dhoni’s record of being the fastest captain to score 5000 ODI runs.
Indian fans were delighted when the Indian team dominated the game with a score of 289-286. The series was wrapped up with a standing of 2-1 in favour of India. The victory served to be sweet for the Indians after they had suffered from a 10-wicket loss on the first match against Australia.
After a satisfying victory, the team is now waiting for their flight to New Zealand where they’ll get to fight the team at the other side of the world. The odds of the game are yet to be posted so make sure to check Betwala for updates.
