On February 15, the fast bowler of the India cricket team, Ishant Sharma, will undergo a fitness test at the National Cricket Academy, Bengaluru.
The results of the fitness tell will conclude whether Ishant Sharma will be included in India’s Test squad for a two-match series against New Zealand.
Last January 21, Sharma twisted his right ankle on a match against Vidarbha during a Ranji Trophy match at the Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium. Sharma turned back to plea on his follow-through, then he obtained the ankle injury.
After an MRI scan, a Delhi & Districts Cricket Association official confirmed that he sustained a Grade 3 tear in his ankle.
Sharma travelled to NCA for his rehab and has begun bowling steadily which led for him to be included in the 16-man squad for a Test series against New Zealand, after fitness clearance.
The Indian team is hopeful that he clears the test since he is the team’s most experienced fast bowler, thus, will be an important asset for the upcoming Test series.
The Test series will begin on February 21 at the Basin Reserve in Wellington, New Zealand. Meanwhile, the second Test match will start on February 29 at the Hagley Oval in Christchurch, New Zealand.
