Former India captain and current BCCI President Sourav Ganguly shared a cryptic tweet earlier today. In the tweet, Ganguly says that the sport has given him a lot since he started his career in 1992 and that he is now set to enter a new chapter of his life.
“2022 marks the 30th year since the start of my journey with cricket in 1992. Since then, cricket has given me a lot. Most importantly, it has given me the support of all of you. I want to thank every single person who has been a part of the journey, supported me, and helped me reach where I am today. Today, I am planning to start something that I feel will probably help a lot of people. I hope you continue your support as I enter this chapter of my life,” Ganguly wrote on Twitter.
The tweet has triggered various speculations. Some believe that Ganguly will resign as the BCCI President. Others are assuming that he is set to join politics, especially after he hosted Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his home in Kolkata last month. So far, Ganguly has stayed away from politics.
Ganguly became the President of the BCCI in October 2019. Before that, he was the President of the Cricket association of Bengal for four years.
The former India captain is yet to elaborate on his tweet and more information is awaited.
