South Africa cricket team is considering to tour Pakistan. It has been 13 years since the last time they toured Pakistan.
As a preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup in Australia in October and November, the South Africa cricket team is planning to schedule a tour of Pakistan.
South Africa is set to have an ODI series in India that will conclude on March 18. This might be directly followed by a series of matches against Pakistan.
October 2017 was the last time the Proteas has set foot in Pakistan for two Tests and five ODIs. After a terrorist attack on the Sri Lanka team bus on March 23, 2009 in Lahore, no one has gone back for over six years.
It was only in May 2015 that tours continued and Zimbabwe played against Pakistan for two T20Is and three ODIs. Since then, Sri Lanka, West Indies and Bangladesh have visited.
According to sources, a delegation of security experts led by Rory Steyn will visit Pakistan to collect information and investigate the current conditions in the country. The group will look in on current matches to gain first-hand information.
Recently, South Africa wrapped up a Test series against England where the visiting team won over the hosts with a series overall of 3-1.
