Sri Lanka Cricket has suspended Shehan Madushanka after he had been arrested for alleged possession of heroin.
Sri Lanka Cricket has already issued an official statement with regards to Shehan Madushanka’s issue. Madushanka has been taken into custody on Saturday and had been presented to the Pannala magistrate the following day. Afterwards, he was given a 14-day remand before he will be produced at the High Court.
In a release, SLC said, ‘Sri Lanka Cricket decided to suspend Shehan Madushanka from all forms of cricket, with immediate effect. The decision was taken following the player was arrested by the Police and later sent on remand custody for alleged possession of illegal drugs. The decision to suspend will remain intact until a full inquiry is conducted by the SLC into the matter’.
Madushanka, who had been charged for alleged possession of heroin, was best known when he claimed a hat-trick on his ODI debut. Aside from that, he has also played for two T20Is against Bangladesh. To further understand cricket formats, head over to Betwala.
