Sri Lanka Player Pradeep Ruled Out Due to Injuries

Fast bowler Pradeep ruled out of Bangladesh game due to injuries

Sri Lanka fast bowler Nuwan Pradeep was taken out of line-up ahead of their game against Bangladesh this Tuesday because of a dislocation and cut on his bowling-arm finger.

The pacer was injured when he was bowling to wicketkeeper Kusal Perera in the net. Pradeep brought his arm up in self-defence when Perera hit the ball towards the batsman’s head which quickly injured him.

Team manager Asantha de Mel released a statement that Pradeep had been taken out of the fixture due to this.

“Pradeep will not take part in Sri Lanka’s game against Bangladesh on Tuesday, as he will need a week’s time to recover from the injury,” said de Mel. “Bywab was given treatment at the hospital, while the doctors reset his dislocated finger and the cut on his finger was closed with stitches. He was also administered with antibiotics.”

Pradeep was the Lions’ key player especially after he got a match-winning spell of 4/31 in their second match against Afghanistan last Tuesday where they won by 34 runs.

Sri Lanka will play against Bangladesh tomorrow at Bristol County Ground. The Lions’ odds of winning the match is +128 while Bangladesh has -152 odds.
