Sri Lanka brings back Thisara Perera, Shehan Jayasuriya, and Nuwan Pradeep to play for the upcoming two-match T20I series against the visiting West Indies.
On March 4th, the cricket team will retain its One Day International squad with the exclusion of Dimuth Karunaratne. While being the current captain of the team, Karunaratne does not play in the shortest form of the game. Lasith Malinga serves as the captain of the ODI squad.
Thisara Perera, 30, was dropped for the New Zealand T20Is and the T20I rubber against India. He has amassed 193 runs with a total of 11 wickets this season in tournaments across the sport.
In the current three-match ODI series against West Indies, Sri Lanka has already bagged a 2-0 win with one more match to be played in Kandy. Veteran all-rounder Perera performed notably in the ongoing series, scoring 32 and 36 in the first two matches.
Nuwan Pradeep also took part in the ongoing ODI series where he scalped three wickets in the two fixtures. The fast bowler last represented Sri Lanka in a T20I against since the tour of Australia in November 2019. Along with him is all-rounder Shehan Jayasuriya.
On the other hand, opener Danushka Gunathilaka remains to be unavailable due to a recurring back injury. Batsmen Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Oshada Fernando were not given a place as well despite their impressive efforts in the series against Pakistan last year.
The T20Is matches will take place in Pallekele, on March 4 and 6 respectively. Before that, Sri Lanka (-178.57) will go against West Indies (+152) in the third fixture of the ODI series on March 1. For more reliable odds, head over to Betwala.
